Star & Disney India has pledged Rs 50 crore towards the procurement of critical healthcare equipment, including oxygen concentrators, BiPAP machines, and ventilators along with setting up oxygen plants across hospitals.
(ZEE) andhave decided to donate a substantial portion of their earnings from the actor’s upcoming film, ‘Radhe’ to GiveIndia for Covid-relief.
Sony Group has also donated $1 million to procure oxygen for medical purposes and PCR testing machines and other local relief activities in India.
“We stand in solidarity with all of India in our fight against COVID-19,” said K Madhavan, President, The Walt Disney Company India and Star India. “The need of the hour is to provide critical healthcare supplies and equipment to save lives. This is our common fight and our contribution reaffirms our steadfast commitment to India.”
Star & Disney India will also continue supporting relief efforts through its Disney Employee Matching Gifts program, wherein for employee donations to pre-approved charitable organisations, the company will match the amount.
ZEE will assist GiveIndia in procuring the mentioned essential medical supplies to support the healthcare system.
The company and SKF will also work towards providing support to the families of daily wage earners who are an integral part of the overall media & entertainment ecosystem.

Last year, ZEE had donated 240+ ambulances, 46,000+ PPE kits, oxygen humidifiers & 6,00,000 Daily Meals.
Last week, Facebook had announced a $10 million grant for emergency response efforts. The social media network has partnered with United Way, Swasth, Hemkunt Foundation, I Am Gurgaon, Project Mumbai and US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) to deploy these funds to help augment critical medical supplies with 5000+ oxygen concentrators and other life-saving equipment to increase hospital bed capacity.
